INDIVUMED strictly respects patients' confidentiality as well as international ethical and legal regulations. All patients sign a consent form in accordance with the US National Institutes of Health guidelines for "Protection of Human Subjects". The consent includes permission of commercial use of samples and patient data.

Confidentiality: Extremely tight precautions are in place to ensure patient confidentiality. Procedures follow German personal data protection laws and are in accordance with US regulations. Together with surgeons of the collaborating hospitals, INDIVUMED´s study nurses conduct follow-up analysis and assure completion.

Through its collaboration with various oncological hospitals in the Hamburg Metropolitan area, INDIVUMED's Integrated Analytical Platform (IAP) supports the research community by covering the most prevalent tumor entities, such as GI-tract cancer (esophageal, gastric, pancreatic, colorectal cancer), hepatobiliary malignancies, breast cancer and lung cancer.
